Over time, the calcium filled body parts that grind the food can become yellow and stained. When that happens, the person with the stained calcium no longer has a white smile. That person has good reason to seek out a teeth whitening special.
A search for a brighter smile generally helps alert a person to mention of offers that promise special teeth whitening. What makes any one whitening process special? The answer to that question relates to an ingredient in the “special” gel.
That gel should contain carbamide peroxide. The percentage of that peroxide in a gel determines the effectiveness of that gel. Yet too much of that “special” ingredient can harm the elements inside the mouth. Therefore, one must look for a product with a moderate amount of that one particular chemical.
Why is it necessary for any product that promises to create a whiter smile to have carbamide peroxide? That chemical combines with the staining elements on the incisors and molars. That chemical also reacts with oxygen. That reaction produces a white color, and thus changes a stained calcium surface to a white surface.
Now, as indicated above, an effective gel should not be 100 per cent full of one “special” ingredient. A gel contains a number of different ingredients. Some gels contain glycerin. A sensible person does not look to a glycerin filled product for help with creation of a white smile.
Glycerin can damage the gums. It is best to avoid any gel or other product for use in the mouth, if that product contains glycerin.
Yet that limitation should not make it extremely difficult to find a great way for ridding one’s incisors and molars of their unsightly yellow color. There are lots of products on the market that promise to facilitate the formation of a bright and white smile.
