Spa Treatments For Cellulite

There are a number of FDA approved spa treatments for cellulite that are available in most areas.  These treatments are generally more expensive than a scrub, but operate under the same principles and may show more pronounced results more quickly.  These procedures are extremely low risk, much lower than invasive liposuction or other fat reducing procedures, and can be performed by a spa technician.

Endermologie is one of the first such treatments that was widely used, and still remains one of the most popular.  A technician uses a machine that essentially gives a powerful massage.  This machine will smooth out fatty deposits with a mechanical roller and loosen the fat by pulling it through suction.  Many people swear by the effectiveness of this procedure, though it will not permanently eliminate the appearance of cellulite.  At least eight weekly sessions are recommended for best results, at a cost of $50-$150 each.

Another procedure that uses deep massage to achieve the desired results is Tri-Active Laser Dermology.  In addition to the massaging action of endermologie, a laser is incorporated to heat the area for increased circulation to stimulate fat burning.  This procedure is slightly newer, and slightly more expensive, with an average cost of $100-$200 per session, with at least 10 sessions recommended.

In addition to spa remedies, many of the best skin care manufacturers now offer product lines that are designed to give the look of firmer and smoother skin.  These creams may be used as part of your body care regime to supplement spa treatments for cellulite.  Most of these creams work to restore elasticity to the skin and reduce water retention, as well as topically encourage the breakdown of fat.  A somewhat surprising ingredient commonly found in these products is caffeine.  One your next trip to the drug store, look for a caffeinated cream to use regularly on problem areas.
